Wild birds back in the garden

Posted by British Bird Food 10/10/2011 0 Comment(s)
I wish I had a pound for every time I have been asked where all the birds have gone recently. they have returned to the hedgerows and fields for the last of the berries and seed before the Autumn wind and early frosts end the free feasting. With the high winds several smaller species are returning to the garden bird feeders for the easy pickings and as they get used to it, so you will attract them to return to your garden. Wild bird food is best fed all year round, but for those who only feed when needed, now is the time to start, the birds may leave it a week or so before relying on your garden feeder, but no harm will come to the seed in that time and you will know you are ready for any sudden change in the weather (as reported in the Sunday Times and on the BBC news). Right now we recommend Autumn mix, it has lots of high energy ingredients to prepare the birds for the winter months. Winter mix is also a good mix to start now and carry on right through the winter months, it too has suet and mealworms for that energy boost the wild birds need so badly in harsh conditions. Many of our mixes are developed exclusively for British Bird Food and once you have tried them we think you will agree they are outstanding in quality and value for money (and your birds will appreciate it too!)
