Buy peanuts now - save while you can!

Posted by British Bird Food 26/07/2011 0 Comment(s)
As we have reported previously and now other bird food companies are stating the same message. Peanuts are going to be short in supply again this year. British Bird Food have secured our prices and quality ahead of the rush and so are in a good position to pass on the savings to customers (always our first priority). However, stocks are limited and so our advice is to buy now, prices will be increasing shortly when current stocks are exhausted. Quality is not affected so far and our peanuts are very good in that respect. The shortage is down to climatic problems in some of the peanut growing countries, also there are a lot of infected batches with Indian Meal moth, this is a moth that drills into the nut and lays eggs, which appear as larvae later, although it could be seen as an 'extra treat' for the birds it is not welcome in your food store and not a problem that you should have from a reputable supplier. British Bird Food stock standard peanuts and premium peanuts, our standard peanuts are perfectly fine quality nuts, but the premium nuts offer that extra quality in terms of size, consistency and defect free appearance. Both types of nut are Afflatoxin free and packed full of natural oil for your wild garden bird food. peanuts for wild birds
