help stop window bird strikes

Posted by British Bird Food 23/07/2011 0 Comment(s)
With the third brood of the year soon to fledge, it is an unfortunate association that the number of birds flying into windows will increase once again. Window alert decals in the shape of Humming birds, Butterflies and Maple leaves are a good way to reduce the likely hood of the bird strike on your windows. Window alerts are Ultra Violet and althoughwindow alerts almost transparent to us humans they are very bright to the birds eye and so they will be distracted away from your window. Window alerts last for 2 or 3 years before they need replacing and so they really are good value for money. They are unobtrusive when placed on the window and can be removed and replaced several times. They sit on the inside of the window and so cleaning is not a problem either. Another good way to help reduce the bird srtikes is to use a window feeder, simply, the birds will soon realise there is something else on the window and avoid it at first, but soon will get to know that there is some food (Robin and Tit food is perfect) in there for them and you will have the best of both worlds, you can sit and watch your wild garden birds feeding up close, as well as having the satisfaction of knowing you have helped reduce the injuries caused by bird strikes.window bird feeder
