Deep in the South East of London lies an area of ground that is being converted into a wildlife a bird sanctuary. Local residents and school children have been transforming the Northbrook park in Lewisham, from the dreams of a seven year old boy and now with the help of lots of friends and supporters they are encouraging more bird life, Hedgehogs, Wildlife and Butterflies into their park area. Dried Sunflower heads from British Bird Food British Bird Food sponsor the group with Dried Sunflower Heads and they have become very popular with the local birds (and some international guest as well - see photo!). If you would like to see more of the project you can go to  go to www.northbrookparkcommunitygroup.co.uk there is lots of photographs of their progress and you can contact them too. To see how they did it, and maybe there may be some ideas for your local park area too.
