Premium quality peanuts on the menu

Posted by British Bird Food 12/05/2015 0 Comment(s)

Premium quality peanuts for wild birds.

The quality of peanuts is one of the most variable aspects of buying wild bird food, in general it is fair to say that they are an entirely natural product, they don't have additives or colours and so they are as nature intended, it is just that some are not so nice, shrivelled, dry and old looking. So when you buy wild bird food and want to know you are going to get the best quality, it really is one of those cases where the price will reflect the quality you are likely to get. This year Peanut quality is variable, British Bird Food have managed to steer clear of the Argentine Runners, as they were not as good as the Brazilian and Indian peanuts, they cost a little more, but we have absorbed that increase to offer a superb quality peanut at a great price for our bird feeding customers. Our standard nuts are very good quality but do vary slightly and so have a few halves or less good looking nuts amongst them, they are very fresh so do shed their skins a little, but this is natural at this time of year. The Premium peanuts are the very best quality Indian Java peanuts, a light skin colour and very consistent quality, evenly sized at 60 to 70 nuts per ounce and only harvested in March of this year (in some pet shops nuts are over two years old) Vacuum packed for the very best freshness and storage, these nut will indeed last for well over a year if stored in a cool dry place. We offer the premium quality peanuts as an alternative for those customer who like the consistency and quality you expect, they are not that much more expensive and we have held our prices from two years ago since we last stocked them. We just thought that this year the market indications are that a good quality nut will be appreciated, both our customers - and their wild garden birds!
