Hedgehog food still required

Posted by British Bird Food 22/11/2014 0 Comment(s)

Hedgehog food should still be made available.

Autumn is still with us and it is a mild one this year. So our spiky friends in our gardens are still active and it is important they still get the food they have come to rely on for the past few months in order to maintain weight and prepare for hibernation. Hedgehogs hibernate when the weather dictates, so as it it is wet and warm at the moment, they will still be active in the gardens - eating slugs and snails, also, if you have been providing additional food for them, they will be looking for this to continue and it is important to do so until you know they are going into hibernation. With December fast approaching and given the extreme cold snowy conditions over in America at the moment, I am going to stick my neck out as they say and give a long range weather forecast - very cold and lots of snow! so it is best to stock up on your wild bird feeding requirements now, and as you do so, perhaps you would like to take some Hedgehog food too, just to tide them over for the next few weeks.   [caption id="attachment_3578" align="alignleft" width="150"]Hedgehog food Hedgehogs still need food to prepare them for Winter.
