Why feed the Squirrels?

Posted by British Bird Food 31/07/2014 0 Comment(s)
It may seem the last thing you would want to do if you have trouble with the Grey Squirrel population descending upon your wild bird feeding station, but in fact there may be some rhyme behind the reason. If the squirrels are bothering your wild birds in the garden, then you have many choices of Squirrel Proof bird feeders at British Bird Food. But if you prefer not to use Squirrel proof feeders then an alternative is to entice the Sqirrels away from the bird feeder to a part of the garden where they can look after themselves without interferring with your garden birds. The heavy duty Squirrel feeder is just the job. A sound wooden construction from FSC timber with a polycarbonate front so the Squirrels can see what is inside, then a hinged lid. The Squirrels will go to the Squirrel feeder as it is easier to get food from and once they have found it they should (all being well) go to the Squirrel feeder each time they want food and in a few days will have forgotten all about the wild bird feeding that is going on in the rest of the garden. So, that is a fun way of attracting the Squirrels to a different part of the garden and still keeping them around, but without disturbing your wild garden birds.
