Now is the time for dawn chorus
If you were wondering when it is best to get up extra early and listen to the dawn chorus - well now is the time!
Around 5am in any quiet spot, away from buildings and roads, you will be rewarded with a glorious sound of a multitude of wild birds singing before their breakfast. We have Robins', Wrens', Sparrows, Blackbirds', Thrush, Finches, Dunnocks', and all of the Tit family. So we are very luck in the variety of bird song we can hear. We live in a quiet village, so we don't even have to go out of the house (let alone get out of bed!) to be treated to a beautiful dawn chorus every morning.
At our wild bird feeding station in the garden all of the birds mentioned above come to feed on our variety of wild bird food. Ranging from our Spring / Summer mix, Niger seed, Peanuts for birds and Sunflower hearts. This means they will be nesting in the area too. We have two Blackbird nests and a Robin in the garden plus Blue Tit and Great Tit in two of the nest boxes.
By having the bird feeding station, bird seed, nest boxes for birds all in our garden we encourage the wild birds to frequent the garden and this in turn reaps delights at all time of the year, in terms of watching the birds, helping the birds, and now listening to the birds. If you don'e already benefit from the natural theatre that is the dawn chorus, then now is a good time to start. The Tom Chambers Complete Bird Feeding Station
is an ideal way to get all you need to start feeding the birds, don't forget to get some seed!
