Dawn chorus is with us again
Out here in rural Shropshire, at 4am the birds are just starting to wake and chat to each other. At 4.10 they are getting into full swing, Blackbirds, Robins, Tits and Finches all taking their place in the medley of chirping and chatting that is going on. They are yet to get into full on chorus, we have that to look forward to in June. Right now it is just lovely to here them all.
There are many ways top attract the wild birds to your garden, a good feeding station with hanging feeders full of Niger for Finches, Nuts for Woodpeckers and Nuthatches, seed feeder for the Tits and Finches and any other birds that will cling on. A bird table or ground feeder tray for the ground feeders like Blackbirds and Robins and of course you must have a supply of clean fresh drinking water. If you provide all of this then at you will have your own part of the wild bird world all day every day. To listen to the dawn chorus you need to find somewhere where there is trees and hedges and a lot of silence, then you can go there at dawn and you will be able to here all the birds chatting and singing - all for free!
