Teapot nester - perfect present

Posted by British Bird Food 28/11/2013 0 Comment(s)
The Teapot nester for Robins is a lovely gift idea for anyone who enjoys nature or gardening. The friendly Robin is the gardeners companion. They will flit around the garden all day, collecting insects and worm and they can become so tame they will feed from your hand. Mealworms are a favourite food of the Robin and they will soon learn where they can get some from and return there every day. The Robin Teapot nester is fired at a high temperature to give frost resistant ceramic, which is finished in a dark rustic colour to blend into the setting. It can easily be fixed by a screw in the base, or it can be fixed in a hedge or fence by wire through the holes provided. The lid on the Teapot nester gives protection from the rain and allows the open front for the Robin as they prefer this sort of nest box. Robins will sing almost all year round and they are pretty fierce at protecting their territory from other Robins, but two or three can get on happily in large gardens. Young Robins only gain their red breast after 2 or 3 months. The Teapot nester should be sited in some greenery or undergrowth cover, with the Teapot facing between North and Southeast, between 1 and 2 metres high.
