Mini Bugs - perfect educational presents

Posted by British Bird Food 15/10/2013 0 Comment(s)
The Mini Bugs collection of insect and Butterfly homes are a great way to introduce children to the wonders of nature. Priced at £9.95 each, there are four in the series to collect, the Ladybird Log, Butterfly House, Bug Box and Solitary Bee House. All of them come with a free project book and magnifying glass for the new recruits to  challenge, explore and record their findings n amongst the undergrowth. Mini Bugs Ladybird Log, is a scaled down version of the Ladybird and Insect Tower. Designed with our tiny garden friends in mind, the log has a central chamber and  upwardly sloping entrance holes to prevent water ingress to the central chamber, a wooden roof and base to help stabilise and protect the inhabitants from the weather and even a couple of toy Ladybirds climbing up the pole to help the natural version get the message. The Ladybird Log is ideal for over winter observation of bugs and insects. Mini Bugs Butterfly Bugs House, is a scaled down version of the Butterfly and Moth habitat / feeder. With sponge and bowls to feed and attract the insects, this miniature version will give hours of fun in the summer and be a helpful nourishment point for the butterflies and moths in the early summer (before natural food is abundant). Mini Bug Box, is a scaled down version of the Bug Box 2000. This is ideal to place in the garden and attract solitary bees and insect to hibernate and lay their eggs. It comes with some extra hollow tubes to experiment with and find out which the garden creature like the best. Mini Solitary Bee House is the scaled down version of the Solitary Bee House. Solitary bees are safe and non-aggressive, they will seek out small holes and tube like structures to lay their eggs. An essential part of the pollination of gardens, there is much for children to learn about in studying bees and their effect on the rest of nature. [gallery]
