Wildlife decline report out today

Posted by British Bird Food 22/05/2013 0 Comment(s)
There is a report in the media today about the decline in our British wildlife and bird population. Twenty five organisations have pooled their resources to produce a report detailing the current state of our nations wildlife. It is well worth a read and you can view it on the RSPB website but in summary.
  • 60% of over 3,000 species have declined in the last 50 years.
  • Conservation priority species have declined by 77% in the last 40 years.
  • Of 6,000 species assessed, 1 in 10 under threat of extinction.
We all care for our wildlife in the garden, so please take a minute to check your garden for any possible dangers to the wild creatures that visit. Ensure fresh water is available and food is correctly and safely presented. Anyone is always welcome to contact us for specific help or our (limited!) advice, but you can gain a wealth of knowledge by checking web sites of nature conservation groups for your specific question. We supply a large range of wildlife habitats, time lapse cameras, some wildlife food and of course lots of wild bird food :)
