FACT FRIDAY!

Posted by British Bird Food 29/06/2012 0 Comment(s)
There are many interesting facts about our wild birds that we may not know and so I have decided to do a blog every Friday called Fact Friday, let me share a few facts with you to get us started.... Did you know... Goldfinches use spider silk to fasten their nest branches together. Did you know... each species of Finch have their own song or sound and there are around 400 species of Finch singing their lovely tune around the world. Did you know... a Cuckoo lays between 12 and 24 each each season. That's one busy bird! Did you know... there are about 9,300 species of bird all over the world, and approximately 600 of these are listed as British. Did you know... when diving, a Peregrine Falcon can reach speeds of nearly 200mph. Now that is fast! Please comment if you have any other interesting bird facts for us, and we will try and include them in the next blog. Don't forget you can also contact us via Twitter @BritishBirdFood. That was your first Fact Friday blog, have a nice weekend whatever you are doing and don't forget to keep your feeders toppped up!
