Bullfinch at last! @britishbirdfood
After twelve years of feeding the birds at Holly house, we have at last been rewarded with

our first Bullfinch on the feeders. (picture by Mark Jobling)
We have always been keen garden bird watchers and love to hear the birds sing around the garden, we have Goldfinches, Sparrows, Greenfinches, Blue Tits, Great Tits, Swallows, Brambling, Chaffinch, Blackbirds, Thrush, Robin, Jay, and others. But so far, we have not had a visit from the beautiful Bullfinch - until Monday and there he was, enjoying some Spring / Summer mix on our tube feeder station. He has been back every day since, absolutely resplendent in his Pink plumage.
The Bullfinch doesn't seem to be bothered by the smaller birds, we expected him to push them out, but he takes his turn at the feeder.
We are convinced that we have been rewarded for our persistent feeding regime, we never let the feeders run out of wild bird food and serve up fresh drinking and bathing water every day.
Now all we need is a Woodpecker to visit us again, they last came in 2005!
