This product is another of our hand made items. Top quality carpentry makes this squirrel box a superb and durable box for the Squirrel's to make their home in.
20mm thick FSC timber provides good insulative protection during Winer months and there is sufficient space inside to allow good ventilation in the hot months. The lid is made 100% waterproof by the addition of a damp proof membrane and a cover of faux slate tiles. Apart from the decorative brass screws and cup washers holding down the roof slates there are no nails or screws in the construction, just good quality workmanship (and a little glue!)
The front entrance hole is the larger of the two and sits above a slotted ladder and shelf to allow sunbathing and munching. To the side is a smaller hole and ladder allows the young to scurry around inside and outside the box in their early days.
Two good fixings are included and ready made holes are provided, but a spanner and screwdriver are needed to secure the box firmly to the tree or other place you might have in mind.
