The Solar insect theatre is a fascinating and interactive item for any garden and is an educational tool for children.

Constructed from durable and long lasting FSC timber, the insect theatre features a glazed front for maximum visibility of the action inside. A unique solar lighting system with it's own storage batteries automatically light up at dusk attracting Moths, Lacewings, Butterflies and lots of other interesting insects into the theatre. The light shines all night and then switches off at dawn, with all the insects inside waiting for you to investigate. Plant material or small twigs can be placed inside the theatre through the side access door.

The lower shelf has several solitary bee nesting holes as added habitat, you can also use the theatre in the winter by filling it with bark or straw to provide over-wintering for Lacewings and Ladybirds.

Positioning the Insect theatre.

Find a visible area that catches the sun during the day, for warmth. Look out for plants that attract insects (see plants and fauna) and locate the insect theatre close by. Avoid placing the theatre in the wind if you can.
