Ladybird / Lacewing Log
This natural habitat, made from sturdy FSC certified timber and natural log is a purpose built design habitat for Ladybirds and Lacewings.
Both of these insects are natural predators of garden pests like Aphids and Greenfly. By encouraging these insects to your garden you will reduce the need for chemical use.
To encourage the insects to come to your log the internal chamber can be filled through the viewing ports with straw (for Lacewings) or bark (for Ladybirds and other insects) in order to provide them with valuable, insulated overwintering space and summer retreat.

Important information:
This product is for wild creatures and so you may not get immediate habitation. Nature does move slowly and so to help you get the best from your ladybird / lacewing log we recommend you read the supplied detailed instructions for siting carefully. The log may be visited 6 to 12 months later, or in the appropriate season to see if it is being used.
If after 24 months the log has not been used, it may be worth choosing an alternative site for your log and to see what improvements can be made to provide a suitable environment for your target species. Consider flowers, woodpiles, rough areas of garden etc.
Because many species are constantly seeking refuge and safe nesting sites, you may find that an unexpected species is using the log. This should be viewed as part of nature and all species should be welcomed as part of your wildlife garden.
