Niger seed for wild birds

Cage bird keepers have used Niger (or Nyjer) seed as a substitute for thistle seed for many years. For garden birds, it is best known for attracting Goldfinches. It is quite a wonder to watch a flock of these beautiful birds around your feeder, and hear them sing in your garden. Other birds such as Siskin, Redpoll, and finches, as well as the Tit family will all love Niger seed.

Niger can be mixed with most straight seeds or mixes, to add that little extra treat.
