Tree Creeper nest box in stock

As we expand our ever increasing products for wild bird feeding and wildlife habitats, we will not forget the foundations of the BBF business are built around wild birds in British gardens. We are delighted to have teamed up with Wildlife World for most of our nest boxes and other wildlife products. The sustainable FSC timber is mainly hardwood, Oak Cedar etc and is very tough for the environment it is to be used in, yet it is very friendly to the environment in terms of sustainability.

The Tree Creeper nest box is specially designed and tested to attract not only Tree Creepers, but also Tits and other tiny birds who like to squeeze behind bark and make their nests.

Tree Creepers are a beautiful little bird, you can see them working up and down the bark of a tree eating insects with their long, slightly curved beak.

Heavy duty Squirrel Feeder

There are several reasons you might want to feed the squirrels, to distract them from your wild bird feeding station, to help the little fellas survive the winter or just to sit and watch them get up to all sortrs of antics in their attempts to fill their stomachs.

The latest version we have is from Wildlife World and is built to last. Made from Cedar, Larch and Oak, it will withstand the onslaught from the Squirrels as well as the weather. It has a rust proof hinge on the lid to ensure you can fill it easily and the Squirrels can get to the goodies as well. A perspex front lets the Squirrels see what is on offer and allows you the luxury of seeing when it needs filling without going all the way up to it and lifting the lid.

With the squirrel feeder safely in place in the opposite direction, the wild birds will be left alone to feed at your feeding station and you will be spared the expense of them eating your valuable wild bird food.

Winter mix – exclusive to BBF

Our range of seasonal wild bird foods are ever popular, but this year the Winter mix has really took off (pardon the pun) packed with all things nice for garden birds. Sunflower Hearts, Suet pellets, Granulated Peanuts and Mealworms. Good for all species this mix will see your garden birds over the Winter months and through into Spring. Blackbirds are already starting to establish territories and with the mild start to Winter they will soon beWinter mix making nests. That is why it is important to ensure your wild bird food stocks are adequate, because a cold snap may be upon us in no time and the birds will be relying on the feeding stations for their food once again.

It is a strange season this year, with lots of activity, then none at all. Many people are finding they are without birds in the garden for several hours of the day and then the wild birds come back and eat with gusto. This is due to the mild conditions and they are still going back to the fields for the insects and grubs they can find, there is still some fruit around and many berries. So the garden birds have lots to choose from at the moment. I also wonder about the national numbers and whether they declined significantly last year. The RSPB bird watch is on the 28th and 29th January and is your chance to help the RSPB count the number of birds and species in the country. It has gained tremendous following and is fun for the family to take part in. All the details are on the RSPB website, just follow the link and get ready for the big count days!
